Scott Nicholas

Chief Financial Officer

Scott is a Chartered Accountant with 15 years experience in the resources industry. Scott was previously CFO for MACH Energy Australia and Atlantic Ltd in which he was responsible for approximately A$500m in debt and equity financings to develop and operate Australian greenfield resource assets. Scott has been involved in taking greenfield resource assets through to production including feasibilities, construction, operations, and offtake and marketing. Scott began his career with KPMG and Ernst & Young in audit and corporate finance.

Scott has a Bachelor of Law and Commerce from Murdoch University, a graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from FINSIA, and is a Chartered Accountant.

Mr Hussey is a highly experienced fertiliser industry executive, with an extensive background in Sulphate of Potash (SOP) marketing, Potash (MOP) supply contracting, and off-take & joint venture negotiations throughout Asia, Europe, North America and South America..

Mr Hussey served for 10 years as Vice-President of China-based Migao Corporation in both Toronto and Beijing. During his time with Migao, Mr Hussey was responsible for in excess of US$160m in equity and debt financings, which allowed that company to grow into China’s largest non-State owned SOP producer.

Stewart McCallion

Project Manager

Stewart is a seasoned mining professional with extensive international and domestic experience for both greenfield and brownfield projects, and in a variety of mineral commodities. Stewart has managed and directed teams through feasibility studies, approvals, site investigations and project execution, most recently with Blackham Resources and Hancock Prospecting.

Stewart holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological Engineering from Queen’s University (Canada) and a Master’s in Engineering Management from Curtin University. He is registered Professional Engineer (Ontario) and a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Shaun Triner (BSc – Mineral Science) Shaun is a highly experienced technical professional with solid business acumen and a deep understanding of the success factors in business activities. He has experience in a variety of commodities including salt, gypsum, wood panels, iron ore, gold and water. The last twenty one years have been with Rio Tinto’s Dampier Salt Limited in leadership roles covering process, operations, engineering and technical marketing.

With over thirty years in the mining industry covering operational, technical, compliance and customer support roles Shaun brings an ability to link all parts of the business in a way that maximises value.

Exploration Manager

Chris is a geologist with a career spanning 20 years both within Australia and internationally. Within his career Chris has worked for a variety of junior and major exploration and mining companies, and worked across a broad range of commodities including mineral sands, gold, iron, diamonds, base and rare metals.

Successful exploration efforts include mineral sand resource definition along Namibia’ Skeleton Coast, discovery of the Snapper mineral sand orebody in NSW, significant iron ore delineation in Namibia, and target generation that resulted in a 1.1Moz gold deposit in Burkina Faso.

Chris holds a B.Sc geology from the University of Canterbury, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Geologists (AIG).

Leigh-Ayn is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Secretary with 16 years experience in auditing, accounting and company secretarial roles within public practice and the resources industry. She commenced her career with Deloitte, originally in South Africa and then Australia, before moving into the mining sector with Murchison Metals Ltd. Leigh-Ayn has held positions as Group Financial Controller and Company Secretary with uranium development company Bannerman Resources Limited, and Manager - Corporate with nickel explorer Resource Mining Corporation Limited.

Leigh-Ayn is an Associate Member of the Governance Institute of Australia and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Kylie Bull

Executive Assistant

Kylie is a highly experienced resources industry manager. She has worked across various management roles for over 15 years with the past decade focussing specifically in the mining industry. Prior to working with Australian Potash, Kylie worked as a Personal Assistant to mining entrepreneur Mark Creasy. Kylie brings a wealth of knowledge to the team around organisational administration, remote site logistics and supply relationships.

Raul Valenzuela

Site Manager

Raul is an experienced resources industry operator with over 10 years’ experience in the Midwest and Pilbara regions of Western Australia, as well as in Northern Territory operational roles and on-site technical departments. Raul's experience spans multiple commodities including gold, copper, nickel, lithium, vanadium, lead, silver and iron ore.

Joining Australian Potash in 2018, Raul is responsible for the overall management of the Company’s site operations. His responsibilities include safety and operational performance, work flow planning, staffing and rostering, cost control and campaign execution. He is a strong advocate of safe work practices and is committed to driving efficiencies and creating an inclusive workplace.

Raul brings to Australian Potash deep industry experience having worked for companies such as Gindalbie Metals, Karara Mining, Atlas Iron, Minjar Gold and Newmont. Raul’s skillset combines the capacity to see the big picture with the ability to identify and manage the important details, dive into them and develop practical solutions.
